COVID-19 MONOCLONAL ANTINBODY TREATMENT
MAB, or monoclonal antibodies, are a type of treatment being used to treat high risk individuals with mild to moderate COVID-19 infections.
MABs are created in the laboratory and are designed to bind to specific targets on viruses or bacteria.
MABs bing to the targets, and can prevent the virus or bacteria from further infecting cells.
Preliminary studies have shown that it is effective in treating the virus. When used in conjunction with other treatments, such as antivirals and immunotherapy, MAB has been shown to significantly improve the chances of recovery from COVID-19.
